The weekly client report, written on Friday

Every Friday at 2 the week's notes, photos and decisions become a one-page report in your format, ready to check and send.

The client's view of the week is one email on Friday, if they are lucky. Most weeks it arrives Monday morning, written on Sunday night, and it says less than you know because by Sunday you have forgotten half of it.

The raw material already exists. Site notes in your phone from Tuesday's visit. Photos. The decision in the email thread with the engineer about the beam depth. The contractor's programme, updated Wednesday. The three items you promised to come back on. None of it is in one place, which is why the report takes an hour and a half to write.

On Friday at 2 the system gathers it. Notes from the project folder, photos filed that week, emails on the project thread in Gmail or Outlook, anything logged against the project number in the query register. It writes a one-page report in your format, with your headings: progress this week, decisions made, photos, next week, outstanding items. It uses your words from the notes where it can.

You get it at 2.15 as a Word file in the project folder and a link in your inbox. You read it, strike out the thing you do not want the client to see yet, and send it at 4. Every Friday, the same time.

This is the kind of thing we build. It runs in your own accounts, your Drive, your email. When did the last client report actually go out?
