Query lists that write themselves

Transactions that need a client answer are collected into one numbered list per client and sent once a week.

From the client's side it looks like this. Monday, an email asking what the 84.00 to a company in Leeds was for. Tuesday, two more. Thursday, a WhatsApp about a cash withdrawal. Friday, another email, with an apology for the number of emails. Twelve questions in a week, in five places, each one needing a reply they will type in a car park.

Most clients answer none of it until the sixth email, and then answer the sixth one only.

The queries build up anyway. Every time a bank line has no receipt, a payee is new, or an amount does not match, it gets tagged for the client. That already happens in your head and in a notes file. The system keeps the list.

On Friday at 10:00 one email goes out per client. A numbered list. Date, amount, payee, and the one question. Reply with the number and the answer, or click the line and type. Attach a receipt if there is one.

The replies come back to the same thread. Answer 3 is filed against line 3. The receipt attached to answer 7 is posted against line 7. Anything they skipped rolls over to next Friday's list, at the top, with a line saying it is the second ask.

The client gets one email instead of twelve. You get the answers in the ledger instead of in your inbox.

This is the kind of thing we build. It runs from your own Gmail or Outlook and your own Xero. How many questions did you send on Tuesday?
