A quote from the reg and a photo

Reg, mileage and a photo of the dent come in. A draft quote in your own template is waiting for you to check.

From the customer's side it is three things: the reg, the mileage off the dash, and a photo of the dent taken in a car park. They send that to a garage and expect a number back by the end of the day. Most of the time they get it two days later, or they get a phone call asking for the same three things again.

The reg does most of the work. DVLA gives the exact model and year. The photo gets read for the panel and the type of damage: rear bumper, scuffed, paint only, or bumper, cracked, needs a replacement. From there the parts come off your supplier's price list, the one you already have as a spreadsheet or a login, and the labour comes off your own rate card, with the hours you normally put against that panel.

The quote lands as a draft in your own template. Your logo and your terms, with a space for your name. It sits in a folder called Quotes to check, and nothing goes to the customer until someone opens it and presses send.

It is wrong sometimes. A photo taken at night, a hidden crease behind the bumper. That is why there is a check. But a draft that needs two lines corrected is still faster than a blank page at nine at night.

This is the kind of thing we build. It runs in your own accounts, with your own supplier list and your own labour rate. The draft is usually in the folder before the customer has walked back to the car.
